Forks Open Aire Market (FOAM)
will be open again this year in the parking lot south of the Timber Museum.
FOAM is held Saturdays only from 10am to 3pm(ish).
FOAM traditionally opens the Saturday before Memorial Day weekend
and runs through the Saturday of Hickory Shirt / Heritage Days on October 13th.
FOAM is located in the beautiful park-like atmosphere
south of the Timber Museum, surrounded by the trees and green space.
FOAM specializes in local crafts, baked goods from Sweet P’s Bakery, flowers and produce when available.
Due to request, we have changed our minds. The Forks Open Aire Market has named the rest of our season as Swap Meet Saturdays. In addition to our regular market vendors, we welcome the sale of garage-sale-style items during our regular operating hours of 10 am – 3 pm. Bring your items and your tables, and join in! Spaces are approximately 10 ft. square, and cost $5. Setup begins by 9 am. Non-profits are welcome, too.

American Cancer Society Relay for Life
August 3rd - 4th 3pm to NOON
Relay For Life is a fun-filled overnight event designed to celebrate survivorship and raise money for research and programs for your American Cancer Society. Teams of people gather at Forks High School track and take turns walking or running laps. Each team tries to keep at least one team member on the track at all times. Relay For Life represents the hope that those lost to cancer will never be forgotten, that those facing cancer will be supported, and that one day cancer will be eliminated. Sign up today at www.relayforlifeofforks.org and the theme is magic.
Relay For Life of Forks raised $29,000 in 2011 and hopes to raise $33,000 in 2012!

Aug11A Walk To Remember @ CommunitySaturday: 11:00 am – 3:00 pm
A Walk To Remember all our loved ones that we have lost.
All proceeds benefit the Kassi Hansen Memorial Scholarship.
This scholarship goes to a graduating senior entering the medical field.
Kassi died in March 2008 as a passenger in a drunk driving collision.
There will be drawings and an optional lunch after the walk.
Cost is $15 per person or $25 for a family.
Lunch is $7.

Aug23Quileute Tribe’s 3rd Annual Take Back the Night @ A-Ka-Lat CenterThursday: 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm

Show your support for ending domestic/dating/sexual violence/elder abuse/child abuse in our communities by participating in the Quileute Tribe’s 3rd annual Take Back the Night (TBTN) event at the A-Ka-Lat in La Push, WA on August 23rd from 6:00 to 9:00 P.M. Last year’s event was a great success with approximately 400 participants and 32 informational booths. This year’s event will consist of informational booths and displays, fun activities for adults and children, prizes, Native American drumming, desserts, and a candle light vigil (luminary bags) – all FREE of charge!
A community walk (from Lonesome Creek Store to the Quileute Tribal Office) will also be held on Aug. 23rd from 12:00 to 1:00 P.M. to raise awareness for the event.
People of all ages and communities are encouraged to attend the Quileute Tribe’s Take Back The Night and the community walk!
Take Back the Night events are held throughout the nation and serve to create safe communities and respectful relationships by increasing public awareness of sexual violence, domestic violence, and dating violence. Take Back the Night events empower survivors in the healing process and encourage community involvement in bringing an end to such violence.
If you are interested in hosting a booth, display or activity at the event and/or would like to receive additional information, please contact the Quileute Tribe New Beginnings Program Manager, Monica Henry, at 360.374.5110 or email, monica.henry@quileutenation.org.
We are also seeking donations in order to provide prizes to participants for participating in various activities that will take place during the Take Back the Night Event. Any support that you are able to provide would be greatly appreciated.

The 87th annual celebration of the Makah culture focused around Makah patriotism for the U.S., with Makah war veterans taking a “high seat.” This celebration spans three days with canoe races, bone games, kids races, royalty, salmon bake, traditional dancing, talent show, vendors and fireworks.
