Poet Laureate Tod Marshall to hold Poetry Reading in Forks and Poetry Hike

Tod Marshall, the 2016-2018 Washington State Poet Laureate, will visit the North Olympic Library System (NOLS) in celebration of National Poetry Month.  On Friday, April 21 at 6pm at the Forks Branch Library, Marshall will read from his most recent collection, Bugle, which won the Washington State Book Award in 2015. A brief Q&A session will follow the reading.

Marshall will also lead a hike and guided writing session on Saturday, April 22 along the Marymere Falls trail.  The hike will depart at 11am from the Storm King Ranger Station on Lake Crescent. This will be a short, meditative hike with opportunities for participants to share their writing.   No previous hiking or writing experience is required to attend the hike, but participants must be at least 18 years old. Space is limited, and pre-registration is required. To register, visit www.nols.org/events and select “Port Angeles”.
