The public is invited to attend a fascinating evening being held in Forks. “Star Night” is an opportunity to learn about the stars and the universe – led by expert and Ph.D. candidate Cliff Johnson from the University of Washington’s Department of Astronomy.
Clear skies with good weather are anticipated. However, if the skies are cloudy, the rain date will be the following evening, Sunday, June 17th at 7:30 p.m. Check the ONRC website for last minute updates: www.onrc.washington.edu
Star Night will feature out of door talks, computer-based presentations, and a group night sky star talk led by Cliff Johnson who is studying star clusters and galaxies. Cliff is also active in efforts that share scientific information with the public. The program is appropriate for learners of all ages.
Refreshments will be served around an outdoor evening fire. Bring a warm jacket and good walking shoes. Star Night is co-sponsored by the ONRC/School of Environmental and Forest Sciences, and the local Cub Scouts, CampFire USA, and Girl Scouts.
