Family Storytime

This storytime series will take place every Friday at 10:30am

November 3 through May 18.

Storytimes at the North Olympic Library System (NOLS) feature stories, fingerplays, music, and plenty of movement and fun. Studies show that children who are read to before the age of five develop essential pre-reading skills, supporting later success in school. Activities such as talking, reading, playing, and singing all play an important role in early childhood development, which is why they are included in Family Storytime. These activities support skill development and encourage children to interact with their caregivers and peers in a fun, literacy-rich environment. After each session, parents and caregivers will have an opportunity to visit and swap information about parenting resources in the community.

Additional Information

The Forks Branch Library is located at 171 Forks Avenue South. For more information about storytimes and other programs for youth, visit www.nols.org, call 360.374.6402, or email Youth@nols.org.

Tech-Know-Logy Open House

Forks Branch Library on Saturday, January 6 from 2-3:30pm

NOLS offers thousands of titles for you to use at home or on your mobile devices—music, movies, audiobooks, and eBooks, all of which are accessible 24/7, whether the library is open or not.  But which app do you need and how can you access these great collections?  Once you’re started, where can you go if you have a problem?  If you’re still thinking about which device is right for you, what will work best with free local resources from your library?

Bring your questions to a Tech-Know-logy Open House.  Library staff will be on hand to talk about different types of devices and help with individual questions as time permits.  You will also be able to schedule a 30-minute one-on-one follow-up appointment with staff, for personalized assistance on a future date that fits your own schedule.

The Tech-Know-Logy Open House will be held at the Forks Branch Library on Saturday, January 6 from 2-3:30pm, the Port Angeles Main Library on Wednesday, January 17 from 6-7:30pm, and the Sequim Branch Library on Monday, January 22 from 3-4:30pm. Tens of thousands of downloadable and streaming titles are available to you through NOLS; now they’ll be at your fingertips!

Additional appointments can be made by calling or emailing your local branch of the North Olympic Library System. For more information about this and other services at your Library, visit www.nols.org, send an email to Discover@nols.org, or call 360.417.8500. The Forks Branch Library is located at 171 Forks Avenue South. The Port Angeles Main Library is located at 2210 South Peabody Street.
