Family Storytime

This story time series will take place Friday September 14 and every Friday through May 31, 2019

Family Storytimes feature stories, music, rhymes, and plenty of movement and fun! Activities such as talking, reading, playing, and singing all play an important role in early childhood development. After each session, parents and caregivers will have an opportunity to visit and swap information about parenting resources in the community.

The Forks Branch Library is located at 171 Forks Avenue South. For more information about storytimes and other programs for youth, visit www.nols.org, call 360.374.6402, or email Youth@nols.org.

Recruiting Teen Summer Volunteers @ NOLS
Jun 1 @ 9:15 pm – 10:15 pm

North Olympic Library System Teen Volunteers Wanted

The North Olympic Library System is in search of teens to spend part of their summer break volunteering at the Library – having fun, earning service learning hours, and meeting new people! Each year the libraries in Port Angeles, Sequim, Forks, and Clallam Bay actively recruit teen volunteers for the annual Summer Reading Program. Teen volunteers have the opportunity to assist with a wide range of programs and get a glimpse of the inner working of the library. Volunteers involved get a free Summer Reading Program T-shirt and snacks throughout the program. Applications can be found at nols.org/teens-events or any NOLS location.

Teens entering grades 7-12 can apply to be a Special Event Volunteer in Clallam Bay, Forks, Port Angeles, or Sequim. Volunteers will sign people up for the Summer Reading Challenge, assist with Summer Reading Program events, and gain skills as a volunteer. Applications have deadlines specific to location, as follows:

Clallam Bay Branch Library, Saturday, June 1

Forks Branch Library: Saturday, June 1

Port Angeles Main Library: Friday, June 21 (Wednesday, June 12 for Teen Leaders)

Sequim Branch Library: Friday, June 14

In Port Angeles, teens entering grades 9-12 also have the opportunity to apply to be a Teen Leader. Teen Leaders gain valuable planning and leadership skills while working with younger kids and a team. The Teen Leader program is a great opportunity for teens who want more responsibility and hours volunteering. Teens involved with the program will have the chance to help coordinate summer reading program events and mentor younger teens working with the program.  Applications for the Teen Leader program are due by Wednesday, June 12.
