Awake: A Dream from Standing Rock
In honor of Indigenous People’s’ Day, please join Magic of Cinema, House of Learning, Longhouse, and the Peninsula College Forks Campus for a special screening of Awake. This film is the story of the Water Protectors at Standing Rock who captured world attention through their peaceful resistance. Awake tells the story of Native-led defiance that forever changed the fight for clean water, the environment and the future of the planet.
Following the film will be a discussion and Q-&-A with local community members Vanessa Castle and Mark “Hammer” Charles, who traveled to Standing Rock to join the Water Protectors.
The Running Dead 5K
Have you ever wanted to be chased by a zombie like Daryl Dixon? Us too!
Come join The Rain of Terror crew on a fundraising 5k run on October 6th starting at 9am (late enough so you aren’t a zombie and can have a cup of coffee before you come out!)
The route starts at City Hall.
A fun, family friendly event that has plenty of prizes for you and the kids!
This story time series will take place Friday September 14 and every Friday through May 31, 2019
Family Storytimes feature stories, music, rhymes, and plenty of movement and fun! Activities such as talking, reading, playing, and singing all play an important role in early childhood development.
