Dance lessons

Dance lessons will resume on Friday, January 19th.

They are held at the Forks Congregational Church’s Fellowship Hall and begin at 7:00PM.

The lessons are for people of all skill levels, but the main emphasis is on ensuring that beginning dancers can join us on any Friday, and feel comfortable.

Each week begins with a review of the previous week’s lessons.

The instructors, Jane and Terry Heilman, are very skilled and patient, and the other dancers are very welcoming to newcomers. We love to dance, and we never bite. Dancers frequently change partners, therefore having a partner is not required. The lessons are free. Some people make a small donation for the instructors gas expenses, but this is not required.

Please join us on Friday. We are friendly, and we laugh a lot.

No experience is necessary, and no partner is necessary.

Hoh Tribe Warm Current Surf Camp

Hoh Tribe/ Warm Current kids' camp

Please Join Us at the Hoh Rivermouth on the Hoh Tribe Reservation for our Third Annual Surf Camp in Partnership with the Hoh Tribe. Warm Current runs yearly one-day surf camps in communities all along the Oregon and Washington coasts. These surf camps are free of charge and open to all youth in the local, coastal communities where we work. Our camps are designed to provide a fun and healthy experience (surfing) that will attract and engage youth to the health benefits of outdoor recreation and provide a long-term platform that focuses on a healthy and active lifestyle, environmental education, and community service.

  • Help youth build self-esteem, self-confidence, and leadership skills.
  • Increase access to surfing in order to promote a healthy and active lifestyle.
  • Introduce a stewardship ethic by providing educational activities
  • Promote community engagement by involving youth and adults in local service projects.

Joyce Daze: Wild Blackberry Festival

As  the name suggests, wild blackberries are the main reason for the festival. The chance to try our wild blackberries in a freshly baked homemade pie attracts people from miles around.  The festival begins with a pancake breakfast held at the Grange Hall, followed by a crafts fair and parade, and ends with a raffle. The day’s events also include games for the kids, a salmon bake and entertainment.  Proceeds from the event have provided scholarships for graduating Crescent High School seniors and equipment to the community rescue squad.

Contra Dance @ Rainforest Arts Center
Sep 8 @ 7:00 pm

Contra Dance

The Rainforest Council for the Arts is sponsoring a Contra Dance this Saturday, September 8,  the Rainforest Art Center in beautiful downtown Forks, beginning at 7:00PM.

There are no steps to learn, so don’t worry about being inexperienced. Every dance is taught before the music begins, and the caller will give you verbal instruction throughout each dance. The majority of dancers will be new to contra dance. Come on down for a fun time. This is a great way to meet people, visit with friends, and have a lot of fun while getting exercise and listening to good music.  Please join us.  Non-dancers are also welcome, and seating is available for those who want to just watch and listen.

Hope to see you there!!!
