Forks History and More

The West End Historical Society and Forks Timber Museum announce that they will combine efforts for their monthly programs.

Every third Tuesday, these historical presentations will be brought to you at the First Congregational Church,  a short board meeting Timber Museum Board meets at 11:30 a.m. and the WEHS meeting starts at noon.

November’s program will be a presentation of some of the Historical Society’s old slide photographs from the late 1800s to mid-1900s.

December’s program will feature Lonnie Archibald talking about his new book, “Let’s Go Truckin,” with a book signing to follow.

Please come join us for these lively presentations and discussions. You are welcome to bring your own items to share and we encourage questions.

The museum board meetings and historical presentations are free and open to the public

In addition, the club sponsors the Annual High Tea on Saturday, January 19, 2019 from 1:00-3:00 pm at Assembly of God Church. Donations accepted for this event.

Family Storytime

This story time series will take place Friday September 14 and every Friday through May 31, 2019

Family Storytimes feature stories, music, rhymes, and plenty of movement and fun! Activities such as talking, reading, playing, and singing all play an important role in early childhood development. After each session, parents and caregivers will have an opportunity to visit and swap information about parenting resources in the community.

Free Dance Lessons @ Forks Congregational Church

Free Dance Lessons!

Rainforest Council for the Arts will be sponsoring dance lessons February 22, and March 8 and 22. The lessons are held at Forks Congregational Church’s Fellowship Hall. Dancing begins at 7 p.m. and the lessons are free. No partner is necessary, and beginners are always welcome. Please join us.

Studium West Presents ” How Democratic Was the Age of Jackson”, featuring Daniel Gullotta @ Peninsula College Forks

Gullotta will present a view of antebellum America as one of the most transformative, important and interesting periods of our history. He’ll discuss some of the constructs American society has created of Andrew Jackson, and the challenges they pose in studying this time period.  His lecture will be followed by a question and answer period. Light refreshments will be served.

Clallam County Project Homeless Connect @ Vern Burton Center

The North Olympic Library System (NOLS) will participate in the 2019 Clallam County Project Homeless Connect event on Friday, March 1 from 9am to 3pm at the Vern Burton Center in Port Angeles. At this event, NOLS staff will provide information about library services, resources, and programming, and will be able to issue new and replacement library cards.

Clallam County Project Homeless Connect is a county-wide annual event that offers on-site services and builds community connections with people experiencing homelessness or who are at risk of becoming homeless in Clallam County.

The Vern Burton Center is located at 308 East 4th Street in Port Angeles.
