“Wascana’s Amazing Journey”
Brenda Carlsen will be reading her published book “Wascana’s Amazing Journey” at 10 a.m., Friday, March 22 at the Forks library. Children and adults welcome!
“Wascana’s Amazing Journey” is about a Canada Goose whose wing becomes injured while flying south for the winter with his family and friends. What will he do? What happens to Wascana?
An enlightening story for all about friendship, compassion, healing, kindness, empathy, and letting go. Oh yes, and it is really funny too!
This is a story for all those who gaze up to the sky whenever they hear geese and their familiar HONK HONK.
Later in the day from 2-7 p.m. Brenda will be signing and selling books at Forks Outfitters.
Free Dance Lessons!
Rainforest Council for the Arts will be sponsoring dance lessons February 22, and March 8 and 22. The lessons are held at Forks Congregational Church’s Fellowship Hall. Dancing begins at 7 p.m. and the lessons are free. No partner is necessary, and beginners are always welcome. Please join us.

In partnership with WSU Extension and Clallam County Waste Reduction, the North Olympic Library System (NOLS) will offer Master Composter/Recycler Workshops at the Sequim, Forks, and Port Angeles Libraries. These workshops are free to all Clallam County residents, but registration is required. Workshops will be offered on Tuesday, February 26 from 10am – 5pm at the Sequim Branch Library; Saturday, March 23 from 11am – 5pm at the Forks Branch Library; and on Saturday, June 8 from 10am – 5pm at the Port Angeles Main Library.
Master Composters and Recyclers are volunteer waste prevention specialists who are trained in partnership with WSU-Extension and Clallam County Department of Public Works. The program highlights critical waste prevention activities with local solutions working with our local haulers, governments, and organizations to create best practices and educate community members. Topics will include: an introduction to the history and systems of waste and recycling, thoughtful consumerism, composting and food waste prevention, recycling right, and reducing, repurposing, reusing, and upcycling.
This program is generously supported by the Friends of the Library and is a partnership with the Clallam County Waste Prevention Program and WSU Extension.
