    Calling all volunteers! Online registration is now open for this year’s Washington Coast Cleanup, to be held on April 19th. Help save your favorite beach from the harm of marine debris and enjoy a day of fun and great exercise on Washington’s beautiful beaches from Cape Disappointment to Cape Flattery and up the Strait of Juan de Fuca.

    The Umbrella Parade will start at Peninsula College and continue to the corner of Forks Avenue and Division Street where there will be a groundbreaking ceremony for the new Rainforest Arts Center.  The kids will be able to participate in the ceremony and afterwards, continue to Tillicum Park where they can hunt for Easter eggs!

    River and Ocean Film Festival

    Enjoy film explorations of our rivers and oceans at the First Annual River & Ocean Film Festival at Forks High School on April 19. This event, held in conjunction with the RainFest River & Ocean Fair and the Washington Coast Clean-up, celebrates the freshwater and marine environments of the west end of the Olympic Peninsula.  Short films from the Olympic Peninsula and beyond will highlight the beauty and opportunity of this region, as well as some of the issues faced by its marine and freshwater habitats and the human community.  The event is free and open to all. The selected films are primarily shot in a documentary style and are family-friendly.

    will host their annual Easter Breakfast

    at the Forks Elks Lodge

     Sunday April 20th, 2014 from 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM.

    Ham, sausage, biscuits and gravy, hash browns, scrambled eggs, pancakes, french toast, juice and coffee will be on the menu.

    All are welcome.

    Prices:

    Ages 4 and under – Free

    Ages 5 to 11 and senior citizens – $5.00

    Age 12 and over – $7.00.

    Proceeds go towards purchasing new toys for the children at Sunshine and Rainbows Daycare and scholarships for graduating seniors.

    He Arose, An Easter Cantata @ Forks Assembly of God
    Sunday: 11:00 am – 11:00 am

    An Easter Cantata, entitled HE AROSE, will be offered by singers from the Forks Baptist and Assembly of God churches this Easter Season.

    The musical program, Directed by Eldon Officer will be presented at the Forks Baptist church on Sunday, April 13, at 10:45 am, and at the Forks Assembly on Sunday, April 20, at 11:00am. The work includes traditional Easter Hymns and new compositions. Nearly 20 singers from the two churches will present the musical which celebrates Christ’s resurrection, and our redemption.

    Everyone is welcome.

    This is a free event and does not cost anything to participate, we just want to have a great weekend driving around the peninsula and checking out all the great places to see and things to do.

    We’ve created a new domain and website located at

    http://www.peninsulapowertour.com and will be adding content, photos and new information once we finalize the stops.
