Visitor Information Packet for the Forks, WA Area

We are so excited that you are interested in visiting us in beautiful Forks, Washington when it is safe to travel again. Please click here for the most recent updates on Forks area closures due to COVID-19.

The Hoh Rain Forest, Pacific Ocean beaches, Sol Duc Falls, Lake Crescent, La Push – home of the Quileute Nation, world-class rivers for salmon, steelhead and trout fishing with class I, II & III rapids for rafting and kayaking are all just minutes away.

Many people ask us “When is the best time to visit?” If you love the calming rain like we do, we suggest October through May. The rainforest is the most beautiful when it’s raining! You will also experience more solitude on the beaches and hiking trails. And if you are a Twilight fan, the rain is a must!

While you are here, visit the only Gold Star Families Memorial Monument currently in Washington, located outdoors at the Forks Transit Center, 551 S. Forks Avenue. This monument is free and open to everyone. From their website: “Initially the Foundation’s goal was to establish a Gold Star Families Memorial Monument in Woody’s home state of West Virginia. Once that monument was complete, a new mission became clear to Woody and those at the Hershel “Woody” Williams Medal of Honor Foundation to establish these monuments in as many communities as possible in all 50 states.”

Forks has been known as the Logging Capital of the World but in recent years, many have discovered us due to the Twilight saga. And while they went somewhere else to film the movies, Forks is the setting for the story.  So journey to Forks, the hometown of the vampire coven in STEPHENIE MEYER’S beloved Twilight Saga novels.  Discover for yourself the magic of the rainiest town in the contiguous United States, explore our rainforest and beaches, and – just maybe – catch a glimpse of a vampire or “wolf”!  Visit our brand-new Forever Twilight in Forks Collection, a gallery of movie props and costumes from all five movies and used by your favorite Saga actors, books from all over the world and unique Forks-centric pieces (will reopen when allowed)!  Join us during our next annual festival, Forever Twilight in Forks honoring the Twilight Saga and author Stephenie Meyer. This annual festival is held each September closest to Bella’s birthday, so please join us September 9-12, 2021!  Enjoy fun Twilight-inspired parties, activities, contests, vendors and more. Meet up with other Twi-fans and celebrate your love for Twilight!  View the documentary “We Made a Twilight Documentary?! | FANDOM UNCOVERED” to see the festival in action! Visit our Facebook page, and join our Facebook group where we discuss Forks, the festival and Twilight. All year round the Visitor Information Center provides a self-guided map to sites mentioned in the books (pick up your free “Twilight Packet” at the Visitor Information Center or download map from the website – please note that several locations are inaccessible due to closures.  In addition to Twilight activities, we have a “Guy’s List” of great activities that aren’t Twilight related (but gals have fun doing these things too). HAVE YOU HEARD? Stephenie Meyer announced on Good Morning America that she is releasing her next book, the long-anticipated retelling of “Twilight” from Edward Cullen’s point of view –  “Midnight Sun” on August 4th! It is available now!
